These are the aluminium header tanks as used on the Lotus 11, some Sevens, and models including some Lolas. 

I have made these in two specifications, the first being more original, has a slightly larger brass neck and 7psi cap, and the second, has an aluminium neck (supplied without cap).

The mounts have not been drilled, to allow suitability to your application, and there is a small boss in one end suitable for mounting the temperature sender unit if required (most original tanks had a push in unit).

These tanks are clearly the best on the market! A recent European visitor, upon seeing my Elan tanks in person purchased one and returned his new alloy tank that he had sourced from a well known Lotus parts supplier. He said that there was no comparison between the two.

Without doubt, the highest quality aluminium fuel tank available to replace the original steel unit and is a direct and easy replacement to install. 

This tank is unique in that it is the only replacement +2 tank that allows for fitting of the original sender unit which is retained by locking ring.    

This tank can also be supplied in fuel injected form (please enquire). 

This is the only aluminium series 2 tank that allows a standard sender unit to be fitted by way of the normal locking ring. All the other available versions have the different sender unit located by bolts due to their inferior design.

Please compare the quality of the tank in the picture above to those tanks being offered elsewhere. I recently sold one of these tanks to a Europa owner in the States who was dissatisfied with the very poor quality example he'd sourced there. 

Without doubt, the highest quality aluminium fuel tanks available to replace the original steel units. These are lovely and the only ones worth considering for your rebuild.

Again, these tanks are unique in that they are the only replacement Europa tanks that allow for fitting of the original sender unit as described on the s2 tank above.

This is a high quality aluminium baffled fuel tank for the Series 2 Lotus Seven. It includes the aluminium screw cap. I believe that I am the only maker of these tanks. This tank doesn't have the sender unit mount but that can be added if required (as viewed below). 40 litre capacity. 

This is a high quality direct replacement for the standard fuel tank, but with improved design features. It is common that the standard factory supplied tank occasionally leaks around the sender unit. This tank is designed so that is not an issue. Includes sender gasket.

This is constructed to the same high specification as the carb model above, but designed for fuel injection. I have inserted a machined boss into the side of the tank for the mounting of the internal fuel pump. This rigid boss ensures that leakage is not an issue which is common on some standard production tanks. Includes sender gasket.

I can also manufacture this fuel injected tank for an external fuel pump installation. (Please enquire).

This is designed and constructed to the same standard as the carb model above, but with a larger capacity, 10 gallons.

LOTUS ELITE type 14

Standard size fuel tank in aluminium.          

The standard tank in aluminium instead of steel, and fitted with a threaded fuel supply connector as per the original. The sender unit mount is a welded in boss instead of a mount stamped from the tank body (which often leaks). Includes sender gasket.

10 gallon long range aluminium fuel tank.     

This is a direct copy of the 10 gallon long range aluminium tank provided as an option by Lotus originally. As well as the brass fuel supply connector and sender unit mount as described above, the tank has the baffles bolted (brass bolts) in place (instead of welded) as per the original, and I can make and supply these with either the standard size diameter of fuel filler neck or with the very large diameter for the Le Mans style quick filler cap. Includes sender gasket.

Fuel Tank Stainless Steel Retaining Straps

These are stainless steel backed with heavy duty foam and can be made for either the standard size tank or the 10 gallon.

These tanks are available in standard or large size, and, carb or fuel injected. Below is a picture of a large version.

 The sender unit mount is a rigid boss welded into place rather than being stamped out of the base metal as on some inferior tanks, which then suffer leakage problems. A standard sender unit will fit and the six bolts to hold it in place are provided. Includes sender gasket.

 On TR6 tanks there is a small profiled section to allow for the fitting of the car's boot light (not shown on above picture of TR5 tank).

I have made this baffled aluminium tank to the highest of standards and is a copy of the standard steel item. It allows the use of the standard sender unit. I usually make this large tank half an inch shorter in length than the standard tank to make fitting easier.

 FAIRTHORPE aluminium fuel tank

I have made this Fairthorpe Electron Minor aluminium petrol tank as a direct replacement for the standard steel tank. It is of the highest quality and these are not available anywhere else.

This 6 gallon capacity, baffled tank has a welded in boss to mount the standard sender unit (stainless steel allen headed bolts included) and is fitted with a period screw cap. Includes sender gasket. There are two mounting brackets.

Visable in the picture is a foam backed stainless steel retaining strap (same as standard steel item) which is included in the price.

I can make this tank to an increased capacity, or for a race version with safety foam inside and fitted sender unit and supplied gauge. Please contact regarding options.
